The above image is of the oldest bridge in Haïti as well as the entire Caribbean. It was Inaugurated under the presidency of Dumarsais Estimé (whose name it bears) on April 22, 1950. The suspension bridge over the Grand'Anse river, gives access to the town of Jérémie, and seven other municipalities in the department of Grand'Anse. The Grande-Anse River flows through western Haiti and empties into the Gulf of Gonâve at the city of Jérémie. It is one of the largest rivers and most dangerous rivers in Haiti. Many people have died trying to cross the river by truck in the last decades.
When it comes to the Haitian community, many outside cultures hesitate charting our unknown waters. Kat Pwen Kadino, Corp. is here to serve as your Grand'Anse bridge to do business with our community. Let our insight, be your Kat Pwen Kadino (Four Cardinal Points)
Carmel M.D. St Surin is from Jérémie, Haïti; the capital of Grand’Anse. Grand’Anse is an area located on the upper tip portion of the island’s Tiburen Peninsula. In 1992, she moved to America with her husband and family in pursuit of a new life. Her husband, Alex Saint Surin, is a famed journalist, began his career during the 1970’s in the Port au Prince (the island’s capital). Together, the couple began the business of radio and media to serve the unbiased truth of the people’s voice. By the grace of U.S. diplomacy, the couple was able to escape the political warfare which took place during 1980’s and 90’s. Rather than start anew, they remained faithful to the voice of the public; thus as diasporas continued their business ventures from afar. While Alex remained faithful to the integrity of the people through news and current events, Carmel cultivated numerous external media partnerships with major corporations, including but not limited to: Humana Health, Sun Life Stadium (currently Hard Rock Stadium), American Airlines, Miami Dade County and so forth.
In 2004, the couple founded Radio Mega LLC. As Radio Mega became more and more popular, Carmel noticed a cultural gap between American buyers and their understanding of the Haitian Heritage. In 2010 Kat Pwen Kadino, Corp. was founded to bridge the gap between your business and the Haitian Community.
